Ginger Ackley's Music

Lark of the Clans... Celtic with a twist!

15.  Lark's Farewell - Notes and Lyrics

Lark's Farewell began when I visited Ireland in 2005, with a wonderful sight of the barman standing by late in the evening, wanting to close up but caught up in the music being played. One of the things that I cherish about being a musician is the connection that happens when I shares my songs. I hold  the memory of my audiences and I hope that they also will remember me as life goes on down the road. “For our hearts have shared the music and we've touched each others soul... and no matter where my road may lead, there's a part of you will go!”

Lyrics

I can hear the twilight voices telling me its time to go

But so precious have these moments been, I wanted you to know

Our hearts have shared the music. We've touched each others souls

And no matter where my road may lead, there's a part of you will go!

Now, I thank you for your smiling face and I thank you for your tears

How I thank you for your laughter that will echo through the years

I thank you for your company, through good times and through bad

For of all the times in all my life, they're the best I ever had!

I can see the clock upon the wall and the bar man standing by

But I have to tell you once again as we lift our glasses high

I may travel far and travel wide. See all there is to see

But for all the joy that we have shared you are now a part of me

For our hearts have shared the music. We've touched each others souls

And no matter where my road may lead, there's a part of you will go!
