Here are some songs I would like to share with you! I've put some tracks from my various CDs here, along with a few that aren't included on albums yet. I'll be updating with new music - including tracks from "Elf King's Horn" - my newest album that was produced by Brian Henke!
My music is available from my website here but if you'd like me to sign an album or two for you, drop me an email!
I hope you do enjoy the music.... please let me know what you think - and look for me to be playing a venue or festival near you, too! Check my calendar to see where I will be.
Written and originally recorded at Summerland Spirit Festival at Turtle Creek Glen in Clayton, Wisconsin... I was sitting by the creek with the birds singing around me and the frogs bringing the low harmony. The wind was just right and I could hear folks having fun and kids laughing in the background... It is a festival I hope to be at every year!!!
Here is the opening track from the new CD "Elf King's Horn"! It really sets the mood for the whole album!
Imagine, if you would, that you awaken around 4 in the morning, with a feeling of magic all around you. It seems that you have slept right into a Fairy Tale!
Here is a lovely little Celtic waltz that would not leave me alone till it was written! It is one of the three brand new instrumental pieces on the new album "Elf King's Horn" that will be released by June 2015!
Steph Dlugon's beautiful violin joins my autoharp and whistles, weaving in and out and around the melody. She was so much fun to record with!
Brian Henke is an incredible producer for this album. it is an incredible experience to work with someone who understands the magic in the music and can share the vision and story!
Ok, friends.... It begins! Here is the title track to the new CD!
The new album is all about stories and fairy tales. "Elf King's Horn" tells about a beautiful maiden who hears the musical "come hither" of the Elf King. He blew his magical horn to find the perfect girl and she travels to meet him. Happy Ending!
I'm playing the autoharp and whistles on this, along with the vocals. Jay Bentoff adds some vocal texture and Brian Henke added his guitar to make it that much better! We brought in some great sounding french horns, too!
Brian Henke is producing this album and every song is magical and fantastic! I can't wait to share all the music with you! It should be available sometime in June 2015!
If you like this, please drop me a note and let me know! Thanks!
The title track from my History album, wonderfully narrated by my husband, Donovan. Here, I took the old song "Dem Bones" and made it all about history and connection, Thank you so much to Ed Mahonen for bringing in the banjo on it!
Everyone is part of this family!!!
Folks have had to travel from one place to another to find a better place to live. This song is all about them and the things they have to live with to get there...
This is a song I wrote for my mother-in-law - a wonderful and beautiful lady. Her memory is slipping away now, but sometimes she has these incredible flashes from the past. The lyrics all come from things she has said to me...
Another favorite, the Little Beggarman or Johnny Dhu, is the classic Irish tinker man, one of the Traveling Folk. His heart and his sense of humor are filled with laughter and fun! The tune is based on a fiddle tune called "The Red Haired Boy."
A third choice for the new CD - I love this little song! The melody is the same as the slow and sad "Wind That Shakes The Barley" - a tragic rebel love story. In "Maid" it is a boucy, saucy story - and lots of fun to share with friends!
